Senior Dillon Kelley Notches First Career Shutout to Backstop @ACBulldogHockey Win in Boston, Mass.

BOSTON--Senior goaltender Dillon Kelley turned aside all 28 shots he faced to lead the nationally-ranked Adrian College men's hockey team to a 4-0 victory over Williams College on Saturday, clinching third place in the 53rd annual Codfish Bowl hosted by UMASS-Boston.

THE BASICS
= Final Score: Adrian College 4, Williams College 0

= Records: Adrian Bulldogs 9-4 overall; Williams Ephs 5-4 overall

TOP 'DAWGS
= Adrian got goals from junior Trevor Boyd with two, as well as classmate Bryan Yim and senior Kyle Brothers.

= Kelley's 28 saves established a career high and he improves to 4-1 between the pipes this season.

= Freshman defenseman Dean Hewines was a plus-3 and contributed an assist and two shots on offense.

= Senior captain Mathew Thompson won 9 of 16 draws and earned a plus-2 rating.

THE OPPOSITION
= Stephen Morrissey tried to keep Williams in the game with 30 saves in net.

= David Italiano led the Ephs with five shots on goal.

= On face-offs, Tyler Scott was 10-for-19 and Julian Detmer 6-for-8.

HOW IT HAPPENED
= Hewines received his first career collegiate point when he fed Yim for his fourth goal of the season with just 32 seconds left in the first period, opening the scoring for both teams.

= That was all the offense Kelley & Company would need, but Brothers and Boyd extended the lead to 3-0 on goals 2 minutes and 28 seconds apart in the second period.

= Boyd added an insurance tally with an empty-net goal in the third, his sixth of the season that came unassisted.

= Adrian held a 34-28 shots on goal advantage.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= The Bulldogs are in their first appearance at the 53rd annual Codfish Bowl, which is one of the oldest in-season tournaments in NCAA men's hockey.

= Salve Regina held off the host UMASS-Boston Beacons, 3-2, to capture the tournament championship for the second year in a row...versus UMB.

= Adrian now is 2-0 lifetime versus Williams, who lost to the Bulldogs (4-1) at the 2016 Pathfinder Bank Classic at Oswego (N.Y.) State.

= Kelley so far this season has set career highs for minutes played (314:36), appearances (six) and saves (108). He currently ranks third in NCAA Division III with a 1.34 goals-against average.

= Brothers tied Mike Dahlinger (2007-10) for eighth place on Adrian's all-time goal-scoring chart. With a pair of goals today, Boyd has 41 for his career which is 10th.

= Through 13 games, Adrian has almost as many goals (56) as its opponents has total points (62).

= Adrian snapped a three-game losing streak--just the second time in school history that the Bulldogs have had such a streak.
