ADRIAN, Mich. – No. 8-ranked men's hockey team (19-1-3) goaltender Scott Shackell was chosen to share this week's Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Thanks in part to Shackell, the Bulldogs have the longest unbeaten streak nationally in Division III hockey at 13 games and are still undefeated in MCHA play (15-0-3) and have the fewest loses of any Division III team in the nation overall.

Last week against Concordia University, Shackell helped rally his team from behind with 23 stops (.958 save percentage) and stonewalling five Falcon power plays to earn his eighth win of the season.

It was the second time in the past three weeks that the MCHA has honored the sophomore goaltender.

He leads the MCHA in goals-against average (2.03) and save percentage (.928) and is second in winning percentage (.818) only to teammate James Hamby.

Nationally, his goals-against average ranks 14th, while his save percentage ranks 16th.
