Shawn Skelly Named First Team All-American by USCHO.com
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Senior forward Shawn Skelly (Wolverine Lake, Mich.) was named First Team All-American by USCHO.com on Friday (Apr. 22) as one of six players named to the First Team list. Josh Harris of Castleton and Jordon Oye of Fredonia were the other forwards. Chris Berenguer of Hamline and Kyle Shearer-Hardy of Bowdoin were named on defense and B.J. O'Brien of St. Norbert was the goaltender.
Skelly turned in a phenomenal career while at Adrian College helping establish the Bulldogs as one of the elite teams in NCAA Division III in just four years. He ended his career with 102 goals and 128 assists (230 points). He is the all-time leader in team and MCHA history in goals and points. He also is the team's all-time leader in assists, power play goals (47), shots on goal (593) and game-winning goals (20).
Skelly finished his career with four 20-goal seasons including 21 goals this season. He also had 28 assists for a total of 49 points to lead the team. Skelly was sixth in Division III in scoring this season (1.66 ppg) and was 14th nationally in goals per game (0.72 gpg).
