Bulldogs Bruise Hoosiers in Record Tying Performance

Friday evening began a two-night scoring frenzy for the ACHA D3 Black Bulldogs. Bringing only 12 skaters, the Hoosiers of Indiana University were no match for the four solid lines sitting on the home bench. The ‘Dogs walked away with a 14-2 victory on Friday, with nine different players finding the back of the net. Enrico Marson and Bryan Pike both had hat tricks, while Cole Rochowiak, Zach Paulakovich, Matt Hunt, and Dan Sprys each had three assists. Picking up his fourth win in goal was Riley Brooks, facing 16 shots in 60 minutes of action.

Saturday was more of the same as the ACHA Black tickled the twine twenty times,  tying the Adrian College record for most goals in a single game. This is a feat that can only be accomplished by a team that doesn’t rely on the talent of one or two individuals. The Bulldogs demonstrated this fact by having each skater contributing one point or more in the contest. Evan Bjerk played well between the pipes and earned the first shutout of the season for the Bulldogs, and the first of his collegiate career. The 20-0 victory and weekend sweep of IU gives Bjerk his second win of the year, and moves Adrian to 8-0-1.
