Bulldogs Fall 6-5 to Michigan

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Bulldogs faced off Wednesday night with the Wolverines from the University of Michigan at Arrington Ice Arena. Two goals by Michigan in the third period before Adrian could answer proved to be the game decider Wednesday night as the Bulldogs dropped a close game 5-4.

When the first period got underway the two teams played to a deadlock for the majority of the period until the last two minutes of the period. Michigan scored with 2:04 left in the period. Sophomore Russ Rizzo made sure that the Wolverines did not go into the intermission with a lead scoring less than a minute later to give the Bulldogs the momentum going into the intermission. Michigan came out in the second and jumped out to a 3-1 lead about halfway through the period. Only twelve seconds after the Wolverines ran the score to 3-1 the resilient
Bulldogs got a goal on the power play from freshman Nate Woznak to cut the lead to 3-2.

Another power play goal, this time off the stick of Nick Hurite, tied up the game less than a minute later. The game went into the third with a 3-3 tie after 40 minutes. The Wolverines got
two goals during the start of the third period to put them out to a 5-3 lead going into the later stages of the game. Adrian made an attempted comeback as Doug Raymond scored the third power play goal of the game for the Bulldogs with three mintues remaining in the game.

A final furry of shots at the Wolverine net were all turned aside as the Wolverines crawled away with a 5-4 victory. The Bulldogs return to the ice and look to get back on the winning side of things as the travel to Lansing to take on the Michigan State Spartans Friday night for a 6:15 faceoff.
