ACHA Gold Falls 9-6 at Davenport in Season Opener

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The D3 Gold hockey team opened their 2010-11 season on Saturday night as they trailed by three goals earlier in the second period and came back to take the lead in the third period before falling 9-6 at Davenport.

It was the first game for the ACHA D3 Gold team under the direction of Brandon Sciero. Adrian was led by Tony Aukskalnis with a hat trick and one assist. Doug Raymond, Kyle Wood and Bo Beaupre also scored for the Bulldogs. Wood also had a pair of assists as did Alex Root. Jeff Bernyk took the loss in net stopping 22 shots. Four of Adrian's six goals came on the power play. Auksklanis served 10 penalty minutes during the contest.
