ADRIAN, Mich.--The Adrian College ACHA Division 2 men's hockey team handily took game one of its weekend series with Central Michigan on Friday, downing the Chippewa’s 12-2 at Arrington Ice Arena.
Adrian took command early scoring four times in the first period, three in the second and five times in the third, while outshooting the Chippewas by an overwhelming 68-9 margin.
Scoring multiple goals for Adrian were Dalton Anderson, Brandon McLean, Andy Petersmark and Alex Sode with two goals each. The Bulldogs received single goals from Jack Clary, Garret Hodgeson, Mitch Porter and Adrien Sebag.
Picking up two assists each for the Bulldogs were Hodgeson, McLean, Petersmark, Nick Mooney and Phillip Grippi.
Drake Koegel took the win in the net for Adrian making seven saves. The win improves the Bulldogs record to 1-1 and marks the first win at Adrian for new Head Coach Aaron Bain.
The Bulldogs and Chippewas will square off again on Saturday in Mt. Pleasant, as Adrian begins a four game road trip which will see them also visit Trine, Michigan State and Davenport. The Bulldogs next home action will occur on October 29th when they face the Trine Thunder at Arrington Ice Arena at 2 p.m.
