MIAA Student-Athletes of the Week for March 11, 2019

FREELAND, Mich.--For the second time in 2018-19, Adrian College senior Andrew Skibski (Monroe, Mich. / St. Mary's Catholic Central High School) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday. The athletic training major also earned the MIAA weekly award during the fall season on Sep. 17, 2018.

Skibski led the Bulldogs lineup that produced five top-20 individual finishers at the nine-team Pfeiffer University Invitational early last week. He carded a 79+77=156 for eighth place out of a field of 46 student-athletes on the 6,952-yard course on The Club at Hilton Head Lakes in Hardeeville, S.C.

As a team, the Bulldogs improved two shots and jumped a place for third, tied at 316+314=630 from the first 18 holes to the second. Adrian was ahead of NCAA Division II scholarship Alderson Broaddus (347+331=678, 7th) and the host Pfeiffer Falcons, who are a former Division I program (347+340=687, 8th). The field also included Division II Mars Hill, which took the team title with a 292+306=598.

Adrian is idle until next month when it travels to Portage, Mich., for the Kalamazoo College-hosted Steven Tyler Invitational on Monday, April 8, at The Moors Golf Club.
