BLOOMINGTON, Minn.--For the second time this season, Adrian College senior Cameron Cook set the team record for points scored by a placekicker. During a 47-40 loss at Lakeland University, Cook was 4-for-4 on field goals, connecting from 39, 47, 26, 21 yards and also perfect on four extra-point attempts for 16 points. And for the second time this fall, the Linden (Mich.) High School product has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, the website released early Tuesday morning.
Currently, Cook is 9-for-10 on field goals and has made 22-of-23 PAT tries for 49 points in five games. The criminal justice major ranks third in NCAA Division III with a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association-leading 1.8 field goals per game and he is 12th nationally in field goal percentage (.900). He had scored 14 points for the previous single-game record against Rockford, a 62-7 Bulldogs win on Sep. 16, and moved into second place on the school's all-time scoring chart with 192 after his latest record-setting performance.
Cook (Sep. 19 in Week 3, 2017-03, 2016-01) joins James Spencer (2003-Week 9, 2005-Week 1, 2005-Week 5) as the only Bulldog placekickers to capture three D3football TOW honors. Adrian has produced the most D3football TOW winners in the MIAA with 34 all-time.
