Former Bulldog Mike Lewis Receives Arena Football League Honors

ADRIAN, Mich.- Former Adrian College Bulldog Mike Lewis is making his mark in the Arena Football League. Lewis has played in the league since 2010, and has become a consistent force at defensive end during his four-year career.

Lewis was a dominant football player during his time as an Adrian College Bulldog. He set career records for sacks, tackles for loss, and fumble recoveries. He was the MIAA defensive Most Valuable Player, and received First Team All-American recognition during his 2005 senior season.

Mike Lewis started his career in the Arena Football League for the Iowa Barnstormers in 2010. He totaled 12.5 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and 2.5 tackles for loss. In 2011 and 2012 Lewis played for the Utah Blaze where he received All-Arena honors as a member of the second and first teams in respective seasons. Lewis had an outstanding 2012 season, compiling 30 tackles, 12.5 sacks, and 13 tackles for a loss on his way to being selected as First-Team All-Arena. Lewis returned to the Iowa Barnstormers in 2013 where he continued his impressive play, and he, once again, was selected to the Second-Team All-Arena. He compiled his best season statistically with 31 tackles, 12.5 sacks, 17 tackles for a loss, and six forced fumbles.
