Cook and Mitseff to Play in All-American Bowl
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Senior safety Chris Cook (Hartford, Mich./Hartford HS) and senior kicker Logan Mitseff (Shelby Twp., Mich./Pontiac Notre Dame HS) will be playing in the 16th annual Metrodome All-American Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 17 at Mall of America Field inside the HHH Metrodome. The all-star game features NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and semi-pro players from around the country.
The All-American Bowl was founded in 1996 to give athletes the opportunity to compete against the best at their level in an all-star game setting. The All-American Bowl was created to fill the void of the lack of all-star games available to athletes in High School, DII, DIII, JUCO, and minor league football. In April of 1996, the first All-American Bowl was played in Minnesota and has since been played at various cities across the country including Atlanta, Miami, and Las Vegas. The All-American Bowl also gives athletes the potential to be scouted by colleges and professional football teams. The All-American Bowl has several types of games for different levels of competition that include: DII, DIII, JUCO, Minor League Football, Free Agent, and High School. The participants in the All-American Bowls have been nominated for their outstanding performances throughout their season and their accomplished careers.
Cook played in 37 career games for the Bulldogs and finished his career with 155 tackles. He tallied 46 tackles this season and also had two interceptions. For his career, Cook had 19 punt returns for 190 yards. In addition, he had eight interceptions and 20 pass breakups.
Mitseff handled kicking duties for the last three seasons and finished his career with 116 points. He scored 65 points this season with 38 extra points and nine field goals. Mitseff made 16-of-29 with a long of 47 in his career and also tallied 209 kickoffs as a Bulldog. He ranks second in career records for PAT's made (68) and is third with 74 PAT attempts.
