BEAVERCREEK, Ohio--The Adrian College men's bowling team participated in the UPIKE Orange and Black Classic on Oct. 13-14 at Beaver-Vu Bowl, where the Bulldogs placed 18 out of 39 teams. Adrian had a total pinfall of 7,262 in its second event of the season.
After individuals play on the first day, Adrian was in eighth place. Junior Austin Foate helped the team by placing 20 out of the 380 bowlers. Foate bowled all five games, averaging 197.6 with a total of 988. This means he placed in the top 25 for the tournament. Junior Jadin Majewski also helped the team by placing 37th. He bowled all five games, averaging 191.4 and a total of 957. Sophomore Chase Fleming started off strong and supported the team with his 202 and 201 games out the gate. He bowled four games, with an average of 183.8, totaling 735 for 169th place. Junior Jared Caudill also helped the team with his 211 and 206 games. He bowled four games with an average of 183, totaling 732, and placed 174. Sophomore Jansen Stone bowled four games, totaling with a 658 for 213.
Lindenwood took first place in bracket play, beating Laurence Tech in the finals. For qualifying, Lawrence Tech took first, Vincennes took second, Lindenwood took third, Notre Dame-Ohio took fourth and Savannah College of Art and Design took fifth. Rounding out the top eight teams for bracket play include: Davenport, Concordia-Ann Arbor and Marian.
