Men's Bowling Sets School Record for Highest Finish at an AHIBC Tournament

WESTLAND, Mich.--The Adrian College men's bowling team had quite a weekend at the American-Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference Tournament held here at Westland Bowl.

During Saturday's third AHIBC Tournament, the Bulldogs finished eighth out of 30 teams with a 6,877-pin total. Then in Sunday's fourth event of the season, Adrian set a program-record with a sixth-place showing in a conference tournament while knocking down 6,961 pins.

The Bulldogs were very consistent to start the weekend, led by freshman Justin Friedel who finished in 13th place overall with a 200.8 average. Junior Dylin Hunter also had a great day by placing 17th and averaging 197.6. Sophomore Matt Nicoson bowled a 194.2 clip to finish 26th.

Friedel also paved the way for the Bulldogs the following day during their historic team performance. He averaged 205.25 to end up in 14th place.

After an idle week, Adrian hits the lanes again on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 11-12, at the Hoosier Invitational contested at the Western Bowl in Indianapolis, Ind.
