Solid Individual Finishes Lead to 14th Place Showing at AHIBC Opener in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio--Adrian College had its first American-Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference Tournament of the 2016-17 season to end October, as the men had some solid individual places for 14th in the event held at Bowling Palace.

Three Bulldogs finished in the top 45 out of 256 bowlers. Freshman Justin Friedel led the way with 1,008 total pins for five games with a 201.6 average, finishing 14th overall. Classmate Blake Symon was next with a 957 over five games, averaging 191.4, to place 39th. Top returner junior Dylin Hunter finished in 44th place with 938 (5), or a 187.6 average.

"The weekend turned out to be challenging for our guys," Adrian second-year head coach John Essenmacher III says, "but we had some really good individual finishers."

Division II College of Notre Dame in Ohio led the 27-team field with 7,358 total pins.
