ROYAL OAK, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced the 2012-13 Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams on Tuesday and Adrian College received two players among 12 honored by the league.
Sophomore Eric Lewis (Detroit, Mich./CMA) was named First Team All-MIAA becoming the youngest member of the six selected. Lewis has a breakout campaign for the Bulldogs leading the team in scoring with 17.2 points per game. Lewis upped his scoring average from 9.5 points per game as a freshman. He was named MIAA Player of the Week three times this season and ranked third in the conference in scoring, ninth in field goal percentage (.478), first in steals (2.5) and sixth in minutes played (31.27). He scored a career-high 32 points this season against Alma on Jan. 16 and also had seven steals against Hope on Jan. 5. Lewis has scored 695 points in two seasons (13.4 ppg) and his 65 steals this season ranks second all-time at Adrian College.
Senior Cody Barnes (Romulus, Mich./Romulus) was named Second Team All-MIAA and really stepped up his game in his final season. Barnes averaged 12.0 points per game and was the second leading scorer on the team. Barnes averaged 5.7 points per game as a junior showing that he was capable of leading his team as a senior. He ranked fifth in the conference in three-point percentage (.414) making 41-of-99. He was also ninth in the league in three-pointer made per game (1.58) and played the third-most minutes (33.08). Barnes set a new career-high this season with 25 points against Hope on Jan. 5. He had a career-high of four three-pointers made in a game on six occasions. He graduates with 685 career points, 222 rebounds and 107 made three-pointers.
