Gallant and Reed Lead Bulldogs to 54-43 Win over Wentworth
CHESTER, Pa. - The men's basketball team played lockdown defense on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 20) in the consolation game of the Widener Tip-Off Tournament in a 54-43 victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology.
The Bulldogs forced 22 turnovers in the contest and Wentworth made just 16 field goals in the game. Adrian shot 44.4 percent from the field and made nine triples in the contest.
Sophomore Sean Gallant led Adrian with 15 points and also grabbed five rebounds in 27 minutes. He went 5-of-8 from the floor and 3-of-3 from behind the arc. Sophomore Wes Reed found his stroke from outside going 4-of-8 from deep and finished with 14 points. He also added four assists in 25 minutes. Reed was also named to the All-Tournament Team.
Adrian led 21-20 at the break and outscored Wentworth, 33-23, in the second half. Adrian also held a substantial 31-18 edge in rebounding including 13 offensive rebounds.
