FREELAND, Mich.--Adrian College seniors Tommy Parsons (New Albany, Ohio) and Hunter Hayes (Adrian High School) are the pitcher and player of the week, respectively, in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. That announcement was made Monday by the conference office, highlighting outstanding performances from the past seven-day period. Parsons earns his 11th all-time MIAA Pitcher of the Week citation (fourth this season: March 5, March 26, April 2) while Hayes is a three-time recipient (April 16, 2018; May 15, 2017) of the conference's top weekly award by a position player.

Parsons won his 20th consecutive decision by throwing another complete-game victory to improve to 8-0 on the season after stopping Trine on Friday, 3-1. He scattered six singles, allowed one run and walked none with 12 strikeouts. The business management major took over the MIAA earned-run average lead at 1.29 and continues to lead the conference in victories (8-0) and strikeouts (87). Parsons is the NCAA's all-Divisions career leader with 37 wins (against four losses) among active players.

Hayes led the Adrian offense with a .647/.647/1.059 slash line and team highs of nine runs batted in and 11 hits, including three doubles and two triples. The exercise science major also scored four times to account for 13 runs. He had only one error on 32 total chances. On the season, he leads the MIAA with 42 RBI and five home runs while ranking third with a .387 batting average.

With a four-game weekend sweep over Trine, Adrian extends its MIAA-record of 10 straight conference championships.

The nationally-ranked Bulldogs will take an 11-game winning streak and 28-5 overall record into their Mideast Region tilt with La Roche College (No. 17 ABCA/CBN/No. 18 D3baseball.com) later today at 4 p.m. Adrian is 22nd by D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (98 points) and No. 25 by American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball Newspaper (65 points).
