McPherson Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

ADRIAN, Mich. - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their All-Academic Honors as Megan McPherson of Adrian College was recognized with the award. McPherson, a freshman from Livonia, Mich. was named an All-Academic based on her accomplishments in the classroom and on the course during the Cross Country season this past fall.

McPherson, a Criminal Justice major, is a 2011 graduate of Franklin High School. She was the top runner for the Bulldogs this past fall, when she finished in 33rd place at the 2011 NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships, at the Oberlin College Woodchip Trail. McPherson finished the 6k course, running in a time of 22:34.87. Her performance helped her team earn a 19th place finish at the Regionals.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors, the athlete must have finished in the top 35 at the NCAA Regional Championships and carry a grade point average of 3.30 or better.

Currently, McPherson is competing for Head Coach James Larson and the Bulldog Track & Field team as a distance runner.
