Men's Cross Country team Earn 2010 Division III All-Academic Status
NEW ORLEANS – The Adrian College men's cross country team earned the status of All-Academic by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.10 or better and have compiled a score (finished at least five runners) at their respective NCAA regional championship.
A total of 125 institutions represent 32 conferences that compose the group of honorees. Adrian was one of four MIAA schools to be recognized and had the highest GPA among the MIAA schools. The team tied for the 13th best GPA overall with a 3.49. Earlham reported the highest cumulative GPA among All-Academic honorees with a 3.58.
"Academics are the most crucial component in a student-athlete's career here at Adrian," Head Coach James Larson stated. "I am pleased with the hard work our men put in this past summer and fall in running, but I am even more pleased with their efforts in the classroom. Smart and intelligent student-athletes are more successful in the long run and I am fortunate with such a great group of men."
