Seven Adrian Men's Track and Field Athletes and One Women's Athlete Chosen 2018 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field All-Region

NEW ORLEANS -- The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced its All-Region selections for the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field season. Jordan Davis (110-meter hurdles, 4x100 relay, and high jump), Donovan Ervin (4x100 relay), Randy Fry (100 meter, 200 meter, and 4x100 relay), Marcus Higginbottom (4x100 relay), Nicholas Jackson (high jump), Dazmond Lawrence (high jump), and Denzel Tinsley (110-meter hurdles) were chosen to the men's all-region team. Britney Carnagie was the lone selection from the Bulldog women's team.

The men's all-region team consists of 743 athletes from 192 programs; the women's all-region team is compiled of 667 athletes from 184 programs.

The Bulldogs accumulated the most all-region selections based on event for the men in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) with 11 selections. Calvin tallied 10 for the second-most selections. Hope (4), Trine (3), Albion (2), and Olivet (1) completed the MIAA athletes. On the women's side, Calvin led with seven selections. Albion (5), Hope (3), Trine (3), and Adrian (1) were the MIAA selections.

Davis will compete in the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin on May 24-26 in all three events he was selected in for all-region. He is seeded 9th in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.42, 12th in high jump (2.08m), and 4th in the 4x100 meter relay team.

Ervin, Higginbottom, and Fry join Davis in the NCAA DIII meet in the 4x100 relay. Fry was also selected for the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Fry broke the school record in the 100m dash with a time of 10.67 seconds at the Gina Relays in Hillsdale this season.

Tinsley set a college-best time in the 110-meter hurdles (14.57) at the Don Kleinow Invitational at Siena Heights University.

Lawrence set his career-high in the men's high jump (2.05m) at both the SHU meet and the MIAA outdoor championships.

jackson also qualified for the NCAA meet in the high jump, which the event he was selected to the all-region team. He set a season-best mark of 2.08m at SHU.

Carnagie (javelin) shattered a 20-year old school record in the javelin with a throw of 42.31 meters. She will also join her fellow Bulldogs at the NCAA Championship meet.
