FREELAND, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) office announced today that Adrian College men's track athlete Jordan Davis MIAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week.
The sophomore from Ottawa Lake, Michigan had a big weekend, placing top five in four different events at the Joe Banks Invitational at Ohio Northern.
Davis finished first in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.43 (.11 seconds from his school record in the event). That time has him leading the conference in that event and is tied for 34th in NCAA Division III.
Davis won the high jump event with a jump of 6'6.75" (2.00m), good enough for second-best in the conference and 25th nationally.
Finishing fourth place in the long jump (6.24m/20'5.75"), Davis now has the sixth-highest mark in that event in the conference.
Davis's final top five placing came in the 200-meter dash (23.38 seconds). That time is .22 seconds off of his MIAA second-best time of 23.16 set earlier this year at Defiance.
This is Jordan's first MIAA men's track athlete of the week award this season and the second of his career.
