NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Adrian College track and field members have one more chance to qualify for outdoor nationals this weekend at the North Central Gregory Invitational.
The women's 4x400 relay team of Josie Addison, Takiyah Smith, Kallee Reiff and Rachel Dolphin broke a 30-year old school record with a time of 4:03.39. Dolphin placed seventh in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.93. Addison placed 13th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.31. Smith placed 10th in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.11. Natalie Modes finished 11th in the long jump after fouling on two of the three attempts (16' 3.75"). Cassandra Leese placed seventh in the javelin throw with a toss of 102' 6".
Randy Fry placed ninth in a field of 22 runners in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.33. Blake Hairston finished 10th in a field of 29 runners in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.07. Thomas Windle finished fourth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:54.52, but did not improve his time to qualify for nationals. Dominick Reed placed fifth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:08.23and is currently ninth on the performance list for nationals. Reed needs to wait one more day after final day of meets around the country to see if he has qualified, but ninth would make the cut. Scott Campbell finished fifth in the javelin with a throw of 172' 5" and was 13th in the high jump clearing 6' 3.5". William Simon finished sixth in the discus (150' 8") and ninth in the shot put (46' 5.25").
