Bulldogs Travel to Hillsdale for Tune Up

HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Adrian College track & field team headed to Hillsdale, Michigan Saturday to compete in the Hillsdale Tune Up. The Bulldogs performed well as Takiyah Smith broke her own school record in the 60m hurdles (9.42) and Scott Campbell recorded a second place in the high jump (1.96m).

The throwers for the men saw William Simon (14.07m) and Blake Vanstrate (13.20m) finish seventh and ninth place respectively in the shot put.

The jumps saw Scott Campbell record a second place in the high jump with a 1.96m effort. Logan Carey (12.46m) and Alexander Pollack (12.07m) finished ninth and 11th place respectively in the triple jump.

Brad Billings led the way in the pole vault as he recorded a fifth place finish with a 4.31m effort. Scott Campbell followed closely as he tallied a seventh place on a vault of 3.26m.

The distance runners were led by Thomas Windle (4:27.91) who placed 11th and Conner Stevons (4:30.83) who recorded a 14th place finish in the mile run.  

Ty Calvin led the way in the hurdles as he recorded an 11th place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.08.

The women were led by Takiyah Smith as she set the Adrian College school record in the 60m hurdles on an 8th place finish with a time of 9.42.

The jumps saw Sarah Luma and Emily Borup tie for seventh place in the high jump as they each posted a jump of 1.53m. Natalie Modes recoded a 12th place in the long jump with a 4.66m effort.

The sprinters were led by Jazmine Brown as she finished 10th in the 60m dash on a time of 8.07. Rachael Dolphin finished 13th in the 200m dash with a time of 26.90.

The distance runners were led by Grace Ebersole as she recorded an 11th place in the 5,00m run on a time of 20:35.41.

Coach James Larson was pleased with his team's effort, "it was a great day overall for the Bulldogs. Our team recorded numerous personal bests for the season. It was a really great tune up for our small school championship meet next week."
