Two Records Set at Trine Indoor Championships
ANGOLA, Ind. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association does not sponsor indoor track & field as a conference sport, so Saturday's Trine Indoor Championships served as an unofficial meet among conference schools. The Bulldog men came in third with 111 points just one behind second place Trine. The Bulldog women came in fourth with 84 points. Calvin College's teams won the event both scoring 172 points.
Jazmine Brown had one of the top performances finishing second in the 200 meters with a time of 27.05. Brown followed that with a third place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 1:02. Erin Holmberg placed fifth in the mile with a time of 5:40.26. The 4x200 relay team placed third with a time of 1:51.60. Sarah Luma took first place in the high jump just barely missing the five-foot mark at 4' 11.75". Kristen Langermann placed fourth in the long jump covering a distance of 16' 3.75". Langermann also took fourth in the difficult triple jump with a distance of 32' 11.25".
Chad Allemon took second place in the 400 meters with a time of 50.99 and broke his own school record. Thomas Windle placed third in the mile with a time of 4:22.87 also establishing a new school record. Andrew Mangiapane raced in the 3,000 meters and took second in the endurance test with a time of 8:54.77. Ty Calvin hurdled his way to a fifth place spot in the 60 meters with a time of 8.93. Brad Billings took first in the pole vault with a height of 13' 11.25". Jacob Mehr placed third in the shot put with a toss of 52' 0". Mehr also won the weight throw with a distance of 47' 2.25".
