GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Adrian Men won four titles and the Women added four more at the MIAA Track & Field Championships hosted at Calvin. The Men ended the meet in third place overall while the Women finished fourth.
Chad Allemon was a two-time champion on the day for the Men. Allemon and Tyler Trevor from Olivet tied in the 400m dash, finishing in 49.02 seconds. Allemon anchored the 4x400 relay with Ricardo Dabney, Brandon Walters, Aaron Wielfaert as they edged out Trine by a tenth of a second to win the race in 3:19.05.
Not to be outdone, Kelsea Sellers was a three-time champion for the Women, winning the 100m dash, 200m dash, and 4x100m relay. Sellers was a part of two school records on the day, as her 25.35 in the 200m broke her own record, and the 49.31 in the 4x100 relay from Natalie Miller, Jazmyne Curry, Kristen Langerman and Sellers broke a record time from earlier in the season.
Other athletes that turned in first-place performances for the Men included Derek Stoll in the Hammer Throw at 50.98m, and Aaron Wielfaert in the 400m hurdles at 54.67 seconds.
Senior Megan Meier was also a champion in the shot put, throwing the shot 12.56 meters.
The Bulldogs have three meets left before the NCAA Outdoor Nationals, which will be hosted at Claremont McKenna College in Calremont, California.
