ADRIAN, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has announced its Athletes of the Week in track and field for meets through April 21 and the Bulldog Women earned both honors as seniors Megan Meier and Kelsea Sellers took the titles.
Meier, a senior from Plainwell (Allegan HS), set an Adrian school record in the shot put with a toss of 41 feet, 11-1/2 inches which took first place at the Indiana Wesleyan Pre-Conference Challenge. She is currently tops in the MIAA and 28th nationally in the shot put. Meier is being honored as Athlete of the Week for the first time this season.
Sellers, a senior from Montpelier, Ohio (North Central HS), won the 100 meters at the Indiana Wesleyan Pre-Conference Challenge with a time of 12.07 seconds. With that run, Sellers is best in the MIAA and fifth in NCAA D-III this season. She is being honored as Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
The Bulldogs have one meet left before the MIAA outdoor championships which will be hosted May 3-4 at Calvin. This upcoming weekend, Adrian will travel to Hillsdale for the Hillsdale College Gina Relays. Events will be spread out between April 26-28.
