ALBION, Mich. - It was a record-breaking day for the both the Men's and Women's Track and Field teams as the Bulldog Women finished the MIAA Jamboree in third place, while the Men finished fourth. Three records were broken in total on the day as Albion hosted the event which featured competition from the MIAA schools.
Senior Kelsea Sellers broke a school record in the only event she didn't finish in first place, as Sellers won both the 100m dash and the 200m dash. Sellers finished second in the 400m dash, as she broke the school record in 59.28 seconds.
Freshman Megan McPherson was a third place finisher in the 10k run, but it was good enough for an Adrian school record. McPherson finished in 37:56.91.
On the Men's side, senior Derek Stoll stole the show in the hammer throw. An effort of 165-10 bested all finishers by over 16 feet, as Stoll won the hammer throw. Stoll also finished in second place in both the discus and shot put, throwing the discus 156-02, and the shot 50-10.75.
There were also many other top performances on the day for both the Men's and Women's teams, as the Bulldogs combined for five first-place finishes on the day.
Junior Chad Allemon was a winner in the 400m dash, running his best time of the season at 48.22 seconds. With that run, Allemon now ranks 6th in D-III in the 400m dash.
The Bulldogs got another first place winner in Megan Meier, as the senior finished first in the shot put at 41-01. The Men's 4x400m relay team of Allemon, Aaron Wielfaert, Brandon Walters, and Greg Govier also crossed the line in first at 3:22.45.
Adrian will compete next weekend in the Al Owens Classic at Grand Valley State. Events will start at 10:00 am in Allendale on Friday, April 20th.
