ANGOLA, Ind. - The Bulldog Track and Field teams had an impressive showing at the Trine Invitational #3 as the Women scored 144.5 points and won the meet while the Men finished 3rd, scoring 82 points. Both the Men and Women had a number of victories and top performances in the meet.
For the women, senior Kelsea Sellers had a 1st place finish in the 60m dash at 7.95 seconds and a second place finish in the 200m dash at 26.56. The Bulldogs also got second place finishes from sophomore Sabrina Khenonou in the 400m dash at 1:04.89, junior Heather Strong in the 3000m run at 11:18.95, and freshman Sara Luma in the high jump at 1.53 meters.
For the men, senior Derek Stoll had two second place finishes on the field side, throwing the shot put 14.98 meters and throwing the weight throw 15.65 meters. Freshman Mitch Osadchuk ran his way to a second place finish in the 800m run at 2:01.68, while the 4x400 team also came in second place at 3:29.56.
Junior Aaron Wielfaert also scored some points for the Bulldogs, leaping to a third place finish in the high jump at 1.93 meters, while running to a fourth place finish in the 200m dash at 23.69. Sophomore Jacob Mehr finished third in the shot put at 14.84 meters.
The next meet for the Bulldogs will be next weekend at the MIAA Indoor Conference Championships, which is hosted by Calvin. The meet will start at 10 am on Feb. 25th from Grand Rapids.
