Best Show in Regionals Ever for Synchro Skating

ROCHESTER, Minn.--Behind a score of 68.43, Adrian College's collegiate synchronized skating team seized seventh at the Midwestern Championships on Friday afternoon in Rochester, Minn.

In its final competition of the season, the Bulldogs had their best finish at sectionals in school history and are now alternates for Nationals just missing the mark by 2.45 points, which is a small fraction from advancing.

"They came to skate!," said head coach Lindsay Patterson. "It was the best I've seen them skate all season and their scores proved it. We really came together as a team in Minnesota and skated their hearts out. I could not be any prouder of this team."

Miami University boasted a 10-point margin over its nearest competitor among the nine-team field with a total element score of 50.51 and a program component score of 46.40. Western Michigan finished second behind Miami with a score of 86.80. Rounding out the Midwestern Championship field were Michigan (81.94), Michigan State (76.76), Wisconsin (75.53), Minnesota (70.87), Adrian (68.43), Illinois (58.24), Northwestern (43.01).

The Bulldogs had a total element score of 34.90 and a component score of 33.53 for a total of 68.43.
