Bulldogs ACHAMD1 2018-19 Hockey Schedule

ADRIAN, Mich.--Gary Astalos, the head coach of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 men's program at Adrian College, has released the team's 32-game schedule for the 2018-19 campaign.

After finishing the 2017-18 season with a school-record 34-1 ledger and a sweep of the Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League regular-season (15-0) and playoff titles, the Bulldogs captured the ACHA Division 1 national championship for the first time in school history. Adrian outscored four opponents by a 21-4 score combined, producing four ACHA All-Americans after the final whistle.

In addition to the regular season, Adrian will once again host a junior team from Canada as the Bulldogs take on the Sarnia Legionnaires of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League Saturday, Sep. 29, for a tune-up contest at the Arrington Ice Arena. Adrian owns a 30-1 home record under Astalos, who was named the national coach of the year in April.

The season begins in earnest on Thursday and Friday, October 4-5, with a home-and-home series versus GLCHL foe Rochester College. The teams will meet in Suburban Ice Macomb on the first night and then in Adrian the following day.

The Bulldogs will see three new opponents this season as they will play Liberty University (No. 10 nationally-ranked) four times, University of Utah for one home game and Alabama (No. 22 nationally-ranked) for two home games.

The team will feature many promotional nights at Arrington including the absolute fan favorite Fraternity Night on Friday, October 26, against Liberty and again on Thursday, February 7, against Michigan-Dearborn

In another schedule highlight, Adrian will conduct Senior Night against Calvin College on Thursday, February 28.

The GLCHL Tournament will be hosted by Adrian College from Thursday through Saturday, March 7-9.

The ACHA national tournament will take place in Dallas, Texas, from Thursday, March 21, to March 26, and is hosted by the Dallas Stars.

The team's roster will be announced after the conclusion of training camp in early September.
