ADRIAN, Mich.--The Adrian College American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 1 men's hockey team had a big weekend at Arrington Ice Arena with a dominating performance against the Illinois State University Redbirds, earning victories of 10-1 and 6-2.

The Bulldogs were in complete control of game one on Saturday from the start, outscoring the Redbirds 6-1 in the game's first two periods. Adrian added four more goals in the third stanza as Brad Kobryn and Chris Donaldson each lit the lamp twice in the game and Adrian received single markers from Marcus Rose, Dominic Moore, Justin Fisher, Kyle Perkowski, Rainer Glimple and Matt Millan. Millan scored the game's final goal, which was his first career goal and made the final score 10-1.

Adrian was just as dominate in the shots on goal statistics, outshooting the Redbirds 58-10 for the game.

The Redbirds put up a much better fight during Sunday's matinee contest, mostly due to a spectacular goaltending effort by Joey Garapolo, who held Illinois State within 2-1 of the Bulldogs through two periods, making 37 saves in the first forty minutes before surrendering four goals to the Bulldogs in the third. Garapolo finished the contest with 44 saves.

Adrian took the early lead with goals from Moore and Joe Costello early in the first, with Marcel Kottek picking up the lone assists on both goals. ISU's Andrew Van Dyke scored the only goal for either team in the second period, on a power play goal, but the Bulldogs Jordan Oshowy scored a power play goal of his own to start the third period before Mike Finger added an even strength marker thirty-five seconds later to bust the game open at 4-1.

Jeremy Norway gave the Redbird's hope of a comeback with the next goal, but Adrian's Chris Donaldson would have none of it, scoring twice in a thirty-one second span to make the final score 6-2.

The wins push Adrian's season record to an impressive 21-1, including a perfect 5-0 mark in month of January. The Bulldogs next action will come on Thursday night when they host Eastern Michigan at Arrington Ice Arena at 7:15 on Fraternity Night, which will feature the Adrian College fraternities competing in a series of contests for the Fraternity Cup.
