ADRIAN, Mich.--The No. 3-ranked Adrian College ACHA Division 1 men's squad won a battle between two top ten teams on Friday night, as it defeated the No. 9 Robert Morris University (Ill.) Eagles 4-1 at Arrington Ice Arena in the first of a two game series. With the win Adrian now moves to 5-0 on the young season, while the Eagles drop to 5-2.

Adrian's power play provided the difference, as the Bulldogs scored a power play goal in each of the game's three periods, while the teams traded even-strength markers in the contest.

Adrian got on the board first with a power play goal by J.P. Grineau with assists from Marcel Kottek and Marcus Rose for the only score of the first period.

Adrian took command of the game in the second period, however, as Austin Kuhn connected on his third goal of the season in an even strength situation with assists from Joe Costello and C.J. Nicholson. After a slashing penalty against Eagles winger Scott Coash, the Bulldogs power play struck again as Justin Fisher and Rainer Glimple set up Domenic Moore for his third goal of the campaign.

A five-minute major penalty to the Eagle's Alex Anderson led to the Bulldogs fourth and final goal of the night, as Jordan Oshowy scored to make the score 4-0 with a helper from Josh Hosking.

Adrian goaltender Austyn Roudebush nearly earned the shutout, but the Eagles spoiled the shutout bid with a goal by Coash with just 4:16 remaining in the contest. Roudebush, whose record now stand at 4-0, made 28 saves on the evening while his Robert Morris counterpart Chris Mallon stopped 35 Bulldog shots.
