ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College women's ACHA Division I hockey team earned themselves a 3-1 win on Thursday night, defeating the Scarborough Sharks at Arrington Ice Arena.
The Bulldogs got on the board first, scoring the only goal of the first period on an unassisted tally by junior Jenna Jubinville (Essex, Ont.).
The Bulldogs quickly made it 2-0 just 19 seconds into the second period on a goal by senior Morgan Poole (Ottawa, Ont.) assisted by Nicole Laflamme (White Lake, Mich.) and Demi Russo (Staten Island, N.Y.), but the Sharks answered back 1:15 later with their only goal of the evening and unassisted marker by Emma Carrington.
Defense then ruled the rest of the contest as neither team could score until Becca Napoli (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Alicia Tait (Oshawa, Ont.) worked a perfect give-and-go rush up ice with Napoli scoring the game's final goal and Tait picking up the assist with just 1:52 left in the contest.
It was another strong outing for senior goaltender Emily Michelin (Highland, Mich.), who narrowly missed the shutout while making 23 saves in the Bulldog net.
The Bulldogs will face the Sharks again at Arrington on Friday starting at 7 PM.
